Hi, I’m Chris Hinz — a North Carolina photographer driven by exploration, wild places, and the moments most people pass by.

Photography for me started long before I ever picked up a camera. As an Eagle Scout with decades of wilderness experience, I’ve spent years traveling into remote places, learning how to slow down, observe, and appreciate landscapes in a way that goes beyond what’s visible at first glance. That perspective shapes the work I create today.

My inspiration is deeply rooted in places like Canyonlands and other rugged environments that remind us how much there still is to discover. I’m drawn to scenes you don’t see photographed every day — quiet overlooks, changing weather, unexpected wildlife encounters, and the details that make a place feel real.

Landscape photography is my primary focus, with growing work in wildlife and select real estate projects. Whether I’m documenting a vast landscape, waiting for the right moment with wildlife, or capturing a space with intention, my goal stays the same: create images that feel authentic, natural, and memorable.

I prefer candid moments over staged ones — catching light, movement, and subjects off guard to preserve something genuine.

Approachable, professional, and always ready for the next adventure.
